【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiestheKarlFischermethodusingelectrometricendpointdetectionforthedeterminationofthewatercontentofsurfaceactiveagents.Themethodisapplicabletoproductsinformofpowders,pastesandsolutions.ThefollowingsubstancesinterferewithKarlFischerreagent:alkalimetalsilicates,carbonates;hydroxidesandborates;oxidizingagents,ketones,aldehydes;strongmineralacidsandstrongbases.Samplesthatcontainanyofthesesubstancescannotbemeasureddirectlybythispresentmethod;inthosesituationsthesolventsystemand/ortheKarlFischerreagenthavetobemodified,butthesemodificationsareoutofthescopeofthisEuropeanStandard.
